MICHAEL D. SCHWARTZ, CPA, JD, MBA, CHFC, CFP
Michael D. Schwartz is principal of his own Tax and Accounting
practice specializing in Estates, Trusts, Tax, Financial Planning
and Partnerships. He was previously with the Big Six accounting
firms of Deloitte Haskins & Sells and Coopers & Lybrand,
handling tax, estate and financial planning for high net worth
individuals, corporate executives and small businesses.
Mr. Schwartz received a B.A. in Mathematics from Ithaca College,
his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law, an MBA from New
York University, the Certified Financial Planner designation from
the Denver College for Financial Planning and the Chartered
Financal Consultant designantion from the American
College.
Mr. Schwartz is or has been a member of the tax divisions of the
American Society of Certified Public Accounants and the American
Bar Association. He has been active in various subgroups including
Personal Financial Planning, Employee Benefits, Trusts and Estates,
Real Property and Probate, and Flow-through Entities. He has been a
member of the New York Bar for over 30 years and is admitted to
practice before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme
Court.
Mr Schwartz has spoken before civic and professional organizations
regarding various aspects of estate and financial planning. He has
also taught national seminars for professionals of Deloitte Haskins
& Sells as well as Coopers & Lybrand and has been an
adjunct professor of tax planning and management at Queens College
in New York City. He has been quoted widely in various publications
including the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Lears Magazine and
Financial Investor and has appeared on Your Money (CNN) and Today's
Business (CBS).
